Beta Reset

What Beta-reset is not: What Beta-reset is: A traditional or a variation of tradition of frequency-based NFB trainingIt uses, instead, multiple frequency bands Based on the arousal/underarousal model Based on trauma/stress-induced systemic dysregulation of neuronal and non-neuronal networks Based on traditional or QEEG site selectionSite selection is paradoxical to many symptom-based & QEEG site Traditional use of monopolar and bipolar montagesIt uses site-specific bilateral and bidirectional placements - one & two-channel bipolar configurations Reward-inhibit amplitude training It is multi-band beta/gamma attunement that encourages multiple gamma-based responses that resonate systemically20-30 minute single frequency (or optimal frequency), coherence, or Z-score based training it is multi-band attunement using short reward periods with the total period length lasting approximately 20 minutesOperant conditioning training of 20+ plus sessions it is a site/function-specific intervention usually between 1-10 sessions before switching to other traditional NFB protocols Dependent on traditional frequency-bands trainingIt uses high beta and gamma frequencies Used for many of the more traditional conditions, e.g., ADD/ADHD and epilepsy or “management” of chronic conditions at this time Used primarily as an intervention to stop and/reverse symptoms associated with chronic conditions A stand-alone or free-standing intervention; A primary intervention within a NFB multimodality intervention paradigm

It is not:

A traditional or a variation of tradition of frequency-based NFB training; it uses, instead, multiple frequency bands

Based on the arousal/under-arousal model; based on trauma/stress-induced systemic dysregulation of neuronal and non-neuronal networks, e.g., dysregulation of afferent and efferent feedback loop signals within brain (including cerebellum – Leonard, 1998; Raichle et al., 1994; Schmahmann, 1997 1998), as well as between brain and body

Based on traditional or QEEG site selection; site selection is paradoxical to many symptom-based & QEEG site selections utilizing instead posterior brain site locations based on gamma-band response potentials research and presenting symptoms, issues, and conditions

Traditional use of monopolar and bipolar montages; it uses site-specific bilateral and bidirectional placements using one and two-channel bipolar configurations, preferably two channel

Reward-inhibit training; it is multi-band beta/gamma attunement that encourages multiple gamma-based responses, which then resonate systemically

20-30 minute single frequency (or optimal frequency), coherence, or Z-score based; it is multi-band beta attunement and gamma wave activationusing short reward periods with the total period length lasting approximately 20 minutes

Operant conditioning training of 20+ plus sessions; it is a site/function-specific intervention, used to disrupt “stuck” neuronal and physical activities and re-establish neuronal flexibility requiring fewer sessions (usually between 1-10) at which time traditional NFB site training may be introduced to enhance or reinforce neural networks

Dependent on traditional frequency-bands training; it uses high beta and gamma frequencies

Used for many of the more traditional conditions, e.g., ADD/ADHD and epilepsy or “management” of chronic conditions at this time; it’s used primarily as an intervention to stop and/reverse symptoms associated with neurodegenerative disorders, progressive and chronic conditions, and issues of aging, albeit there is sufficient research to indicate its potential for other conditions

A stand-alone or free-standing intervention; it is a primary intervention within a NFB multimodality intervention paradigm that creates an brain/body resonance optimizing potential resolution of longstanding mental, emotional, and/or physical conditions likely precipitated trauma/stress imprinted issues and events
